So aside from the fact that WTMA 1250 has a brash loud mouth short Yankee with a hippee style pony tail that seems capable of saying anything just to get a reaction (I am referring to Rocky D, of course), they have some sort of bias towards Ron Paul (aka, RuPaul), which I have taken members of their staff to task on both in person and on the air. Recently, I heard "the Southern Avenger" and Richard Todd rambling on about Ron Paul, though Todd does not admit it, and decided to send an email that expresses just how I feel about it. Now most people might say that I should just listen to another station, but we don't have a great deal of selection in Charleston, so I choose to fight the fight and stick up for Fred whenever I can.
The message I sent, I will admit was not a soft tone, but it expresses just how frustrated I am:

However, since you e-mailed me, let me reply as well. It might help your
understanding of conservatism to look at its' modern day origins from Barry
Goldwater and you might realize that your assertion is somewhat wrong. Not
about Hillary though! Republicans are no longer truly conservative. They
have become a party of big government and more government intervention into
the lives of the American public. This flies in the face of what
conservatism is all about.
As for the "equal time for candidates" you are completely and totally wrong.
First of all, you can't possibly listen enough to make the accusation that
all you hear is a bunch of pro-Ron Paul crap. Secondly, YOU ARE WRONG! I
guess you missed Rudy Guiliani, John McCain, Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback,
Tom Tancredo, Tommy Thompson, Mike Huckabee, Mike Gravel, Mitt Romney, and
other members of the various candidates campaign teams on both my show and
Rocky D's.
Your obvious lack of understanding about true conservatism, along with your
unfounded accusations of nothing but a bunch of pro-Ron Paul crap all the
time, is an indication of your apparent frustration with the Republican's
choices and your inability to view any commentary that you disagree with in
an objective manner. And frankly, I am sick of shallow minded people like
yourself making unsubstantiated claims that are completely false. But it
comes with the territory in talk radio.

So to be fair, most of the comments I hear on the show that are so blatantly biased tend to be from "the Southern Avenger". However that is not always the case. No doubt that is no excuse. The fact is that Todd has the guy on every morning to provide commentary, and every morning it seems he finds a way to make Ron Paul out to be the messiah, no matter what he opines that we need to be saved from. And that requires accountability!!
No doubt, Todd even has the guy fill in for him, which always ends up to be three hours of Ron Paul propaganda!!
So even though Todd is not the primary source of the problem; he can't legitimately hide behind the excuse that the guy he has recruited to pinch hit for him is the problem. Indeed, if it were not Todd, there would be an effort for Todd to take the guy to task or maybe even not have him on the show at all!
But since Todd has done neither, he is just as accountable!
Now as far as where the Republican Party is and where it is going, I am quite inclined to agree that there are many RINO's out there. However, I have stated that on there air and BOTH TODD and "the SOUTHERN AVENGER" HAVE DISAGREED WITH ME. No doubt they have actually gotten offended by it.
Further, the fact there are those that are eroding our Party of its conservative roots does not discount the need to speak up for what's right. Neither does it excuse a blatant slant towards a fellow such as Ron Paul, whom himself admits to being a Libertarian -- NOT A REPUBLICAN, NOR A CONSERVATIVE!!
In response to Todd's statement that they have had the other candidates on, I might point out that that was not every week or day. Regardless of the news headlines, I don't hear as much about and from other candidates on WTMA. No doubt, while every other news agency is reporting the activities of Fred Thompson and others, WTMA is either discussing Kings Grant, Mt. Pleasant, Charleston Soccer, or Ron Paul!! Ron Paul gets consistently discussed -- in the affirmative, no doubt -- all the time, not just when he is given time or invitation to be on the show. This is inconsistent with having equal air time for candidates, regardless of how Mr. Todd wants to spin it!!
Now as far as Barry Goldwater, I have little to say; I care little about the man. No Doubt, I am quite polarized towards the Great Ronald Reagan, whom most conservative consider the measure of a Republican!!
Further discussion on these matter need not be addressed at this time!
